FIRST PHASE OF STRENGTH TRAINING
Mac has done an excellent job from day 1! He has become proficient in the weight room and I would love to have the opportunity to take his training to the Next Level in Phase 3. Now that we have accurate training maxes we will be able to focus on the continued strength development and introduce more power development upper/lower body.
THE FOCUS OF PHASE II
AREAS OF FOCUS DURING PHASE 2 TRAINING: OLYMPIC LIFT TECH., LOWER AND UPPER BODY POWER/STRENGTH, SINGLE LEG STRENGTH AND HAMSTRING DEVELOPMENT.
Phase II Strength Training Macro Cycle
Wk 1 70%/Wk 2 75%/Wk 3 80%/Wk 4 85%/Wk 5 90%
Phase III Speed and Agility Training
As far as speed and agility training goes we will continue to focus on acceleration and top end speed, but the agility training will shift to more baseball specific. Now that his hamstrings are properly develop I will get a timed 60 yard dash during this phase.
